Rural crime can cause much more than the immediate loss of equipment or machinery. For farmers, the farm is often both a workplace and a home, meaning theft, attempted theft and suspicious activity can create continuing disruption, uncertainty and stress.

REAN’s Security Giveaway is intended to turn crime-prevention advice into practical action. By helping eligible farmers access appropriate security equipment, the programme aims to make farms harder to target, increase awareness of preventative measures and help rural businesses feel better supported when responding to crime risks.

The giveaway also provides REAN with an opportunity to engage directly with farmers, understand local security concerns and use those experiences to inform future crime-prevention work.
